Terminating a Ghost Call
- Log into your PBX with a web browser on a computer connected to your local area network (either wirelessly or wired). The address should be something like https://192.168.1.200 if you have an on site PBX or it will be something like https://405-605-8085.coolpbx.com if you have one of our cloud PBX products.
- Click the PBX tab. (on the cloud PBX, you'll click "Admin" and then "Asterisk CLI" and omit step 3 below)
- Click the Tools subtab.
- Enter the following into the Asterisk-Cli Command box: core show channels
- When the active channels (calls) appear, locate the extension of the ghost call. For example sake, we'll use the one in the video above where extension 216 was not on a call, but the PBX indicates an active call. In this example, the channel is called SIP/216-000043bf.
- Enter the following into Asterisk-Cli Command box: channel request hangup SIP/216-000043bf. (The channel name will be different each time you have a stuck channel.)
The phone can now receive calls instead of going to voicemail.
